Visiting a college is a key step in making a decision as to which college to attend. You really need to “feel” that a particular college is the right one for you. Unfortunately, you may not be able to afford the trip. When you have narrowed down your list of colleges to apply to, ask each one if they offer a “fly-in program” or travel scholarships. Yes, many colleges will pay for your visit or at least part of it. Here’s a list of several colleges that do just that:

La Calculadora de Gastos Universitarios

Existe una herramienta llamada “Net Price Calculator” (Calculadora del Precio Neto) que lo ayudá a calcular cuánto va a costar a su estudiante asistir a una universidad en particular tomando en cuenta su información financiera personal. Encontré que la Universidad de Aurora en Illinois tiene su “Net Price Calculator” disponible en español. En una encuesta reciente, el 84% de las personas que utilizan la calculadora la encontraron muy útil, pero sólo el 14% de estudiantes habían oído hablar de esta herramienta. Precio neto es la diferencia entre el costo total de asistir a una universidad menos becas que usted puede ser elegible. Costo total incluye los cargos directos (matrícula y cuotas, alojamiento y comida) y los costos indirectos (libros y suministros, transporte y gastos personales). La calculadora evalúa su elegibilidad para recibir ayuda financiera en la universidad tomando en consideración su situación financiera y otros criterios personales que la universidad utiliza para distribuir la ayuda financiera (becas basadas en las necesidades, así como becas basadas en el mérito).
